Psychedelic art-rockers Animal Collective have posted a crazy video announcing a new album entitled Centipede Hz. The video creepily runs down the tracklist, including titles like “Moonjock,” “Applesauce,” “New Town Burnout,” and “Monkey Riches,” along with a release date of September 2012, more than three-and-a-half years since the release of their most recent full-length album, Merriweather Post Pavilion.
This announcement comes a week after the band released two new tracks, “Honeycomb” and “Gotham,” neither of which show up in the video’s recited tracklisting. After several years of scattered shows and mini-tours, it appears as though Animal Collective is ready to re-enter the game once again.

Editor Holley McConnell looks to check some of the Chicagoland area’s summer festivals off her obligatory bucket list. From a camp-out at Summer Camp Music Festival near Peoria for acts like Gramatik and Rubblebucket to a more local immersion in electronic music like Flux Pavilion and Diplo at the Spring Awakening Music Festival at Chicago’s Soldier Field, there’s plenty of diversity around this midwestern metropolis.
Featuring tracks from Carl Cox, Quix*o*tic, Morgan Page, Kids These Days, and more.
